2D2 5300
The 2D2 5300 are a series of old locomotive electric of the SNCF.
Description
The Company of the railroad from Paris to Orleans being powerful machines speed, orders six prototype S of machines of standard 2D2: three (E 701,702,704) give rise to future the 2D2 5100, the E 501 and 502 with future the 2D2 5500.
The prototype E 703 does not have a descent under the reign of the Paris-Orleans, but only after the nationalization of the railroads: they are delivered within the framework of the electrification of the line Brive - Montauban.
Contrary to the other series, the 5300 are in fact of the 2BB2, i.e. the driving axles are grouped by two. that results in particular in a good adherence.
