The division of the Renfe in production units seems to poke the jealousies, and the various services seek to monopolize certain categories of machines, sometimes at the price of a simple renumerotation. It is the case of the éphémêre series 269-800 .

Design

The 269-800 result from the renumerotation of " japonaises" series 269.0 pertaining to Cargas in 2000/2001. The only modification relates to the transmission to monoreductor blocked on the speed of 100 km/h.

These machines are obviously reserved for the goods traffic.

  • the 269-074 becomes 269-808 in 2000
  • the 269-034-5 becomes 269-809-0 in 2000
  • the 269-101 becomes 269-810 in 2000
  • the 269-107 becomes 269-811 in 2001
  • the 269-108 becomes 269-812 in 2001
  • the 269-070 becomes 269-813 in 2002
  • the 269-083 becomes 269-814 in 2003
It is probable that the 269-814 carried this number forever only on paper, its existence being justified only by the need for being able to have one second machine in order to produce a tandem 269.85.

Service

After renumerotation, the 269-801, 802,804 and 805 is assigned to Barcelona - Edge Tunis, all the others with Saragossa. At the beginning of 2001, the 803,806 and 807 pass to Barcelona, while the 804 master key with Saragossa, as well as news 269-811 and 812. They ensure primarily the trailer of goods trains on the northern part of the network. All the series disappears in 2003, the new machines being used to create " tandem" réimmatriculés in the series 269.85.
