Series 269-850 is a series of electric engines, obtained with the beginning of the year 2000 per permanent coupling of two machines of the series 269.8

Design

This new series of " tandem" is much less elaborate than true the " tandem" 289.1 on which true structural modifications were carried out (creation of a hopper of intercommunication, removal of the central cabins, etc…). It is simply about the coupling in the form permanent of a pair of 269-800. The only esthetic change consists with the application of the new classification, whose white letters slice with one delivered " taxi" soiled sometimes well… The process makes it possible to double the power of traction, while making lead the engine by only one machinist. The cost of the operation is tiny, and feels the advantage of being reversible: where necessary, these machines could be disconnected and after relabelling being used in an individual way.

Service

Since 2004, all the series is attached to the news ONE of Mercancias resulting from the fusion of Cargas and Transportes combinados . They are assigned to the deposit of Seville - Santa Justa and ensure since the traction of the heavy goods trains in Andalusia.
