242 AT PLM 1 to 120

The 242 AT1 with 120 are locomotive with vapor of the type Northern . These engines-tender was built for the Compagnie of the railroad the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean of 1926 with 1929 by:

They belong to a series of machines of the type 242 T conceived to mitigate the lack of power and old acceleration of series on the suburban trains and which included/understood also them: 242 BT 1 to 31 , the 242 CT 1 to 50 and the 242 DT 1 to 50 . In 1938 the 120 machines became the 5-242 MT 1 to 120 with the SNCF.

History

In 1947 the Northern area creates the assignment of Fives following a new change of machines of the South-eastern area, operation which will be renewed of 1953 with 1960. The extinction of these defectors intervenes in 1968.

If the Northern area lends in October 1963 the 2-242 ADJ013, 20,54,97,104 and 119 with the area of the East, those having to be turned over for 1965, the change of surplus machines made that the Northern area yielded machines to the area Is as of 1955 and that this one accepted in 1954 machines directly of the South-eastern area where they supported their cousins the 1-242 MT 601 to 630 .
