228e battalion of Toronto

The 228e battalion of Toronto was a Bataillon Canadian Forces during the First World War. The battalion is also known to have taken part during almost a season in a championship of Hockey.

The team of hockey

Thus during the season 1916 - 17 of the National association of hockey, the 228e battalion joined association. The team then plays with a khaki behavior color and very quickly becomes the team most appreciated by the fans of association.

Indeed, in 10 matches played during the first part of the season, they gain six, register 70 of them goals and take 75 of them. Thus, the team is resolutely related to the offensive creates the spectacle but in February 1917, the unit is sent to the face and the team is forced to stop playing.

This sudden stop of the team is accompanied by scandals whereas certain players decide not to leave to the face.
