- the tower Taipei 101 is completed in Taiwan. It is most of the scrape-sky of the world.
- the tower “Goldman Sachs” is completed. It is the highest tower of Jersey City with 238 bills of quantities.
- Fin of signed work Norman Foster with the 30 St Mary Centers with London.
- October 1st: Footbridge Simone-with-Beauvoir, 37e bridge of Paris. It is a footbridge pedestrian designed by the Austrian architect Dietmar Feichtinger. Inauguration in 2006.
- December 14th: Inauguration of the Viaduct of Millau, the most bridge of the world. Built by Eiffage, drawn by Norman Foster.
