September 19th: A video diffused on an islamist Internet site shows apparently a scene of decapitation of three members of the Democratic party of Kurdistan (DPK) in the north of the Iraq.
September 20th: Two American hostages in Iraq, Eugene Armstrong and Jack Hensley, removed the September 16th with a British, are decapitated at 24 hours of interval by their kidnappers, the group of Abou Moussab Al-Zarqaoui, “ Unification and holy war ”.
October 8th: The British hostage Kenneth Bigley is decapitated by his geôliers in Iraq.
November 7th: Great scale attacks on the town of Falloujah.
November 13rd: After 6 days of engagements, the Americans take the control of Falloujah.
December 22nd: Release of both Hostage S and Journalist S French Georges Malbrunot and Christian Chesnot, held since 124 days.

January 5th:

the rebels Hutu S Burundian of the National liberation armies (FNL), last movement in war against the transition government of the Burundi, agree to negotiate with the Burundian president Domitien Ndayizeye.

November 6th: Attacks of two Soukhoï Known-25 of the army of Ivory Coast about the college of Bouaké as a basis being used for the French Army causing 10 dead (9 soldiers and an American civilian), 38 wounded of which some seriously. The French retort by destroying the air forces and anti-aircraft army of the Ivory Coast. The tension goes up, and several thousands of foreign residents again are evacuated.
November 9th: Threatened by the overflows of a demonstration directed against them with Abidjan, from the French soldiers draw. Seven to sixty died according to the sources.

the year 2004 in Canada
