Comment

The action and the structure of film, as well as its moral tonality, are appreciably different from those of the novel of Jules Verne. At the time of the choice of the scenes of the novel, Fleischer specifies that the scenario writer Earl Felton and itself retained only “the most memorable scenes”: “ Everyone remembers the underwater burial, the attack of the cannibals, and fights it with the giant squid, thus we had to include these episodes. We did not employ them in the same continuity nor in the same way because we counted on the fact that anybody forever read the book very carefully ”. The realizer is further affirming than him and its scenario writer “ realized that there was not a true history, only one continuation of episodes ”, putting that partly at the flow translation. Also, by adapting the novel, Disney and its team compressed and changed the tonality of the events of the account as well as the characters and their relationship between them.

The aspect baroque of Nautilus gives him a visually attractive appearance which adds to will have mystery and of wonder surrounding the ship. According to its originator, To grip Goff, Disney wanted to follow the description of Verne, but he did not see the things as follows: “ I said to Walt that the nautilus was built with the haste and summarily in the secret base of Nemo… The only material available was the iron recovered gross of the wrecks… Nemo very obtained for its submarine - materials, pieces of furniture, objets d'art, and even an organ - wrecks which it found at the bottom of the oceans. ”.
