Organization
In 2005, we know that the 1st regiment parachutist of marines is organized around the following units: a company of command and logistics (CCL), one of transmission-grated, three companies of combat GRATED and one of operational preparation and instruction. Each company has its speciality. Thus the 1st company specialized in the combat in urban environments or watery and includes/understands in its center of the teams of operational chuteurs. As for the 2nd company, its pole of excellence is located in the combat in extreme mediums like the Equatorial forest or the zones of high mountains. Lastly, the 3rd company of combat as for it specialized in patrols SAS on armed light vehicles (tradition of the Jeep S armed SAS 1942-1945) and the support. From its volume and its specificity GRATED, 1st RPIMa is a regiment Special forces without equivalent within and the Command Army of Special operations. It is also an extremely general-purpose regiment and can intervene in any type of medium. Quickly projectable, very professional and very effective, 1st RPIMa is of all the detachments and external operations of the French Army, but always committed very discreetly.
