1st regiment of Algerian riflemen
The 1st Régiment of Tirailleur S Algerian is created in France under the Second Empire in 1856. He is the heir to the Battalion of Indigenous Riflemen of Algiers. He east dissolves in 1962.

History of the garrisons, combat and battles of the 1st Regiment of Algerian Riflemen
Its principal garrison is located at Blida in Algérie- 1844: Forwarding of Kabylie
- 1845: Forwarding of Ouaresenis and the Darha
- 1845 - 1846: Forwarding of Kabylie
- 1846: Forwarding of Will say and the High plateaus until Djebel-Alour
- 1852: Forwarding at Larbaa and Ouled-Nail
- 1852: Forwarding and catch of Laghouat
- 1853: Forwarding at Bless-Me zab
- August 6th 1870: Battle of Frœschwiller-Wœrth (Alsace)
- 1912: a regiment of walk is created to pacify the Morocco
- 1914: Charleroi, Battle of the Marne, Battle of Flandres
- 1915: channel of Yperlée
- 1916: Battle of Verdun, Battle of the Sum
- 1917: Champagne
- 1918: Grivesnes, Montdidier, west of Rheims
- 1942: countryside of Africa within the division of Walk of Algiers; combat of the djebel Mansour and Pichon
- 1944 - 1945: campaigns of Italy, France and Germany within the 4 {{E}} D.M.M.
- 1947 - 1954: countryside of Indo-China with 3 battalions formed by the 1st R.T.A.:
- 1st Battalion of Walk of the 1st R.T.A. ; formed in January 1947 and affected with the 1st half-brigade of walk of Algerian Riflemen, it operates 5 months in Cochinchine, takes part in the operations of the Tonkin then turns over in Cochinchine and to the borders of the Kampuchea. It returns in Algérie where it east dissolves the May 9th 1949.
- 2nd Battalion of Walk of the 1st R.T.A. ; formed in 1949 with Blida, it operates in the Tonkin until in 1954. Initially in the delta, in Thai country in 1953 then still in the delta. In December 1953 it is transported by air on the fortified camp from Diên Biên Phu where it occupies the advanced station " Isabelle". It will be destroyed there in May 1954.
- 3rd Battalion of Walk of the 1st R.T.A. ; formed in 1949 with Koléa, it joined the Tonkin where it operates in the delta. From June 1951 at August 1952 it is in the area of Nha Trang then it turns over in the Tonkin. It takes part in the defense of the base of Seno to the Means-Laos.
Today, it is the 1 {{er}} Régiment of Riflemen, created on May 1st, 1994 and stationed with Épinal in the department of the the Vosges, which carries its glorious flag.
Feat of arms making particularly honor with the regiment
Taken of a Mexican flag to the Battle of San Lorenzo, by the rifleman Ali Khalel.(*) Battle carried to the flag of the régiment.

Its currency is “ Toujours the Prime Minister ” registered in Arab characters
