A system OPI (Open prepress interface) is a system of replacement of images allowing an easy handling of files of Desktop publishing (CAM) thanks to the lightening of the weight of the files.

The principle is to generate imagettes of placement (with 72 dpi generally) starting from the image of origin (with 300 dpi). These imagettes will be provided to the customer for the placement in the pages and thus to facilitate the transfer of the files since they will be much lighter.

System OPI will take care, him, to substitute the original image in high-definition for the imagette of placement, without operator action. This replacement will generally be done at the time of the Flashage.
