19th district of Paris

The 19th district of Paris is located at the north-eastern end of the capital. It belongs to the eight districts made up at the time of the annexation of common the peripherals to the capital in 1860 (Belleville, the Villette, as well as portions of the communes of Aubervilliers and Pantin). It is bordered in north by the commune of Aubervilliers, in the west by the 18 {{E}} and 10 {{E}} districts, in the east by the communes of Pantin, the Lilacs and of the Pre-Saint-Gervais and in the south by the 20 {{E}} district. The 19th district is crossed by the Canal Saint-Denis and the Canal of Ourcq, which cross on the level of the Parc of the Villette. On the level of the Street of the Crimea, under the bridge-raising last of Paris, the Canal of Ourcq is thrown in the Bassin of the Villette, which communicates with the Canal Saint Martin's day (10 {{E}} district).

The district shelters both larger parks of Paris, the Parc of the Villette and the Parc of Hillock-Chaumont. The two principal avenues of the 19th district are the which occurred of Flanders and the which occurred Jean-Jaurès connected by the Place of Stalingrad.

The hospital Robert-Debré, the Grande Halle of the Villette, and the Quoted of sciences and industry are the three larger buildings of the district. The other most important buildings are the Cité of the music, the academy, the Files of Paris, the Henri-Bergson college and the old municipal undertaking located at the A hundred and four of the Street of Aubervilliers. The City of the music and the academy were both installed at the edge of the Park of the Villette, near the Grande Halle.
