January 27th: A study gives a report on close to 2 000 works of art plundered by the Nazis during the Second world war in the French museums, which had however hidden their more beautiful pieces.
April 21st: Dissolution of the National Assembly, which is pronounced by the President of the republic Jacques Chirac in order to anticipate the legislative elections.
March 25th: Law Thomas creating the Pension funds, remained dead letter, for lack of nonpublication of the decrees on enforcement of a law.
