1991: The Year Punk Broke

1991: The Year Punk Broke is a Documentaire directed by Dave Markey left in 1992. It shows to the round in Europe several groups of punk and independent Rock in 1991. The documentary one is as a whole centered on Sonic Youth and Nirvana but one finds there also Dinosaur Jr, Babes in Toyland, Gumball and the Ramones. In film also appear Mark ARM, daN Peters and Matt Lukin of Mudhoney, Courtney Love, and Joe Cole, which was killed during a flight three months after the end of the round. The film is dedicated to him.

This documentary is particularly interesting since it then shows two headlights groups of the independent rock'n'roll in full rise, particularly Nirvana, which with the exit in autumn of the same year of the album Nevermind represented true a Earthquake in the musical landscape of the time.

Each live song is followed of a sequence off training course where one finds the musicians of the round, with the Humor removed from rim and sometimes doubtful.
