- September 17th, the United States: The railroad of the Large Canyon reopens officially its doors and again transports travellers of and towards the National park of the Large Canyon.
- September 24th, France: The western branch of LGV Atlantique (towards Mans) is opened to the travellers.
- October 29th, the United States: Three new subway stations open with New York. They are the stations Lexington Avenue, Roosevelt Island and 21st Street, open following a prolongation of line.
- December 5th, France: new a Speed records on rail is established by the Atlantic oar TGV n° 325 (482,4 km/h).
