1973 (song)

1973 is the first extract of the album studio All the Lost Souls of James Blunt.

Origin

" 1973" was written by Mark Batson and James Blunt. The song was inspired by a scene of club with Ibiza, where Blunt has a residence. The song was remixée by Pete Tong and Dave Spoon like part of their Ibiza 2007 Remix Project , and Tong started to play the remix in July 2007 as DJ with the Pasha, the club which inspired the song and which opened in 1973.

Blunt acknowledged on KISFM on September 8th that " Simona" , the name of the woman in the song, was based on that of a true woman whom it met in a club.

Ironically, Blunt was born only in 1974.
