- May 25th : Inauguration with Paris of “new” the Park of the Princes , at the time of the Olympic match of France-USSR football. The final of the Coupe de France 1972 which is held with the Park one week later between the Olympique of Marseilles and the Sporting Club of Bastia (June 4th) are only the second match disputed in the new enclosure.
- May 31st : The Ajax Amsterdam gains its second cut of Europe of the clubs champions vis-a-vis the Inter Milan with two goals of Johan Cruyff.
