Events

  • January 7th: Fall of the Gouvernement Rene Pleven (2).

  • January 11th: With died of the marshal of Lattre de Tassigny, the general Salan becomes commander-in-chief of French armed forces in Indo-China.
  • January 20th: Beginning of the Government Edgar Faure (1).
  • February 28th: Fall of the Gouvernement Edgar Faure (1).
  • March 8th: Beginning of the Government Antoine Pinay with a majority of center-right.
  • March 15th: Dam Tignes.
  • May 26th: Launching of the Loan Pinay (1952-1958), with a guarantee on the rate of gold and exempted death taxes and of donation.
    • Pinay launches a loan indexed on gold matches of a tax amnesty which makes return the capital placed abroad. The Guerre of Korea cause a drop in the world prices of the raw materials. Provisional end of inflation. The prices drop for the first time since 1935.
  • May 28th: communist Demonstration in Paris at the time of the arrival in France of the new commander-in-chief of the forces of NATO in Europe, the general Ridgway. Seven hundred and eighteen people are stopped of which the leader of the Communist party Jacques Duclos (business of the pigeons of Jacques Duclos, released breadth July 1st).
  • June 15th: Adoption of a five-year plan of development of atomic energy.
  • June 27th: Joseph Laniel is named President of the Council of the Gouvernement Antoine Pinay.
  • July 3rd: Inauguration of a nuclear particle accelerator in the center of study of Saclay.
  • July 24th: Vote first five-year plan Nucléaire French (1952 - 1957). Rejection of a communist Amendment aiming at prohibiting the military applications.
  • August 5th: Business Dominici. Assassination of the Drumont husbands and their daughter close to the farm of Dominici. Fifteen months after Clovis and Gustave Dominici denounce their Gaston father for the crime.
  • August 23rd: Antoine Pinay leaves his functions and the political life.
  • September 4th: Judgment of the Communists Andre Marty and Charles Tillon by the PCF.
  • September 16th: Businesses Marty and Tillon with the PCF.
  • October 14th: with Marseilles (France), inauguration of the radiant quoted of the architect Le Corbusier.
  • October 16th: Gaston Dominici is accused then judged in 1954. The suspect is given in bail the October 30th.
  • October 25th: Inauguration of the Dam Donzère-Mondragon.
  • October 28th: The National Assembly vote the amnesty of the facts of Collaboration.
  • December 2nd: French Victoire of Na-San in Indo-China. The lesson drawn from this defeat Vietnamese soldier-Minh made it possible the general Giap to gain the Bataille of Điện Biên Phủ.
  • December 23rd: Fall of the Gouvernement Antoine Pinay whose president of the Council is Joseph Laniel.
