Events

February 28th: Fall of the Gouvernement Rene Pleven (1).
March 10th: Beginning of the Government Henri Queuille (3).
3 - April 4th: First plenary assembly of the French episcopate since 1907.
April 18th: Creation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).
May 7th: Law on the political alliances of the political parties.
June 17th: Legislative elections strongly marked by the law on the political alliances. The PCF (communist) arrives at the head (25,9%) followed by RPF (gaullists) (20,4%).

the system of the political alliances prevents that the Communists and the gaullists do not submerge the assembly and gives a parliamentary representation of close force to six political representations (106 Socialists, 88 MRP, 99 comparable radicals and, 99 moderated, 101 Communists and 117 RPF). The majority from the right formed on the school question (MRP, RPF and moderated) is not completely coherent.

June 23rd: Died of Pétain on the island of Yeu.
July 10th: Fall of the Gouvernement Henri Queuille (3).
August 11th: Beginning of the Government Rene Pleven (2) until the January 7th 1952.
September 21st: Law Marie-Barangé on the assistance with private education, this law sounds the end of the “Third Force”.
November 15th: first new Beaujolais wine
November 24th: Departure of the first voyage of the ship of research and discovered Calypso of the commander Cousteau.
December 19th: Beginning of the exploitation of the Natural gas of Lacq.

Creation of the CNIP (National center of independent and country the) by the fusion of the CNI and the country Left social union of Paul Antier.
