2 with the May 3rd: The lieutenants Oakley Kelly and John MacReady (on Fokker T-2 baptized “Not Stop Coast to Coast”) carry out the first transcontinental crossing of the the United States without stopover into 26. 50 min. They obtain the Mackay trophy for this exploit.

December 21st: The Dirigeable French “Dixmude” disappears in the Mediterranean off the sicilian coasts because of a storm. No survivor among the 52 people present at edge. All the members of the crew accepted, for the first time in the history of the institution, the Légion of honor on a purely posthumous basis.
