Events

January 17th: Paul Deschanel is elected President of the Republic, it succeeds Raymond Poincaré.
January 18th: Resignation of Georges Clémenceau of the station of President of the Council. After its defeat in front of Deschanel with presidential, it is withdrawn from the policy.
January 20th: Alexandre Millerand president of the Council.
In February, waves of strikes of the minors and the railwaymen (February-May).
May 1st: On the initiative of the CGT, the Federation of the railwaymen in vain tries to start a general strike.
June 25th: Tax on the turnover.
5 - July 16th: Conference of Spa on repairs: 52% in France.
July: Scission CGT - CGTU (near to the PCF).
August 23rd: program electrification of the railroads.
September 20th: Resignation of the president of the Republic Paul Deschanel for mental disorders.
September 23rd: Alexandre Millerand is elected president of the Republic, thus succeeding Paul Deschanel (fine in 1924).
September 25th: Georges Leygues president of the Council.
September 29th: First sale of apparatuses of Broadcasting in France.
November 7th: Pose first stone of a news church with Marseilles, future the Basilique of the Sacred Heart, built in the district of Prado, to commemorate the plague of 1720 and to be used as memorial of the First World War.
November 11th :

20 - December 25th: Congress of Turns: scission between the SFIC (future French Communist party), which adheres to the International Communist, and the old woman SFIO.
December: The Nobel Prize of peace is allotted to the French Leon Bourgeois.
