    • Commode is poisoned then strangled in Domus Vectiliana, villa imperial on Caelius, in Rome following the plot of its mistress Marcia and of the chamberlain Eclectus, supported by the prefect of the court Q. Aemilius Laetus. The conspirators, fearing the reaction of the people, and in front of the absence of designated successor, conceal his death temporarily.
