1 {{er}} January. Swiss: the CF absorb two private companies: railroads of Center-Switzerland ( Schweizerischen Centralbahn , SCB) and railroads of North-Be-Switzerland ( Schweizerischen Nordostbahn , NOB). This date is regarded as the birth certificate of the CF.
- January 4th. Congo: creation of the Company of the Railroads of Congo higher than the African big lakes (CFL).
- February 15th. Germany: startup of the Subway of Berlin.
- March 11th. Congo: constitution of the company of the Railroad of Katanga (CFK).

March 19th. Spain: creation of the Sociedad del Ferrocarril de San Sebastian has Hernani
- June 15th. the United States: the New York Central railroad inaugurates the 20th Century Limited , passenger trains connecting Chicago (Illinois) to New York.
- October 7th. France: brought into service of the Line 2 of the Parisian subway between Star and Antwerp, the section between Dauphine Door and Étoile being open since 1900.
