19/20

The 19/20 is a daily session of information disseminated on France 3 of 18:35 to 20:00, combining topicality local, regional, national and international thanks to the support of the national drafting of the chain, its 22 regional stations and its local variations.

Beginnings

Since 1963, regional tv news is diffused with 19:30 on the first chain of rtf then of ORTF, then, following the creation of the second channel in 1964, simultaneously on the two chains. This practice will perdurera on Antenne 2 and FR3 until in 1986.

During the summer 1986, FR3 innovates while launching the 19/20 , a new daily appointment of information, with 19:00, combining national topicality and regional. Up to that point, FR3 had only one national appointment of information, the Soir 3 . Information starts earlier than traditional the great masses of the 20:00 of the other chains. Impelled by Janine Langlois-Glandier, president of FR3 at the time, this new newspaper proposes a session of complete information, combining regional and national current events. The concept is to process the national data through the prism of the regional stations, and the international topicality thanks to the EVN (the bank of exchanges of images of all the TVS of the world coordinated by UER). A conceived appointment, at its beginnings to be interregional, kind of anthology of all the areas.

During its estival launching, the Parisian studios of the 19/20 are not yet ready. The presentation is done then from the regional stations, before taking seat in a studio new bright burning coal: Henri Sannier, former editor association with FR3 Caen which worked on this ambitious project during several months, and Ghislaine Ottenheimer is the first presenters. The first months are difficult. Miss rate/rhythm, televiewers not yet accustomed to this go alternate information, but everyone believes in it. The direction of FR3 gives time to the 19/20 to find its marks. At the end of six months, the audience starts to take off and the televiewers are each evening more.

Success

The receipt of success is at the point. With each editor association, with each presenter, to impose his style and its formula.

The final key returns to Elise Lucet, arrived at the autumn 1986. The weekend initially, then uninterrupted since 1990. Out of tandem with Paul Amar, then with Marc Autheman, and finally in solo as from May 1994. After 19 years with the orders of the 19/20 , the journalist ended up incarnating this edition.

In order to adapt to waitings of the televiewers, the formula is refitted several times. In 1990, the 19/20 is diffused 7 days a week and grows rich by the first local editions, with Tours and Lille. In 1999, the preparing of the 19/20 is changed: new music, new graphic charter and new logos for the local, regional and national editions.

Elise Lucet was the face emblematic of the 19/20 until its departure with the Journal 13 hour old of France 2 in September 2005. Since, it is the journalist Audrey Pulvar who took the reindeers of this session of information. Audrey Pulvar is replaced during its vacation by Marlène Blin, and it is Catherine Matausch, replaced by Christophe Poulain, which presents the editions of the 19/20 Weekend .

Since on Monday, September 25, 2006, the 19/20 has a new preparing with dominant light blue replacing the black stringcourse of information lower. To announce the band was to be containing bandonion and of percussions but France 3 remixé the music. One however could hear the music not used on Europe 1 during the emission of Jean-Marc Morandini.
