The group of languages Tupi-Guarani is a group of Amerindian languages whose principal members are the tupi and the guarani.
According to the legend, Tupí and Guaraní were two brothers who disputed and separated; the word guaraní means also warlike. Guaraní was gone from there to settle in the area of current the Paraguay where it establishes a rich person descent.
The languages of the Tupi-Guarani group extend along the large rivers from the east from the South America: the Paraguay, the Parana, the Uruguay (all three of the names guaranis, guaí meaning river), the the Amazon.
The Tupi-Guarani group is that having the greatest geographical extension of the native linguistic groups of South America.
