September 22nd : First day of the first championship of the English Southern League . This championship is created in reaction to that of the Football League which includes/understands only clubs of North and center of the country. The South is indeed much more preserving on the question of professionalism. Also, contrary to its northerner counterpart, the championship of the Southern League , in the beginning, is exclusively reserved for the clubs amateurs.
