  • April 7th: The Canadian deputy Thomas D' Arcy McGee, in favor of the confederation, is assassinated with Ottawa, in Ontario, by a Fenian Irish, Patrick Whelan.

  • Louis Riel turns over in the area of the red river.
  • the Compagnie of Hudson Bay is of agreement to yield the Ground of Rupert and the Territoires of the North-West to Canada.
  • the Federal Militia Act passed, thus creating the Canadian army.
