Evênements

  • December 19th. Spain: Royal decree granting the concession of the Line Alar LED Rey-Santander to the Sociedad del Ferrocarril of Isabel II

  • December 25th. Chile: Inauguration of the line Copiapó - Caldera, first Chilean line and of the South American continent.

  • Beginning of work of the first railway line of Egypt between Alexandria and Cairo. The company is financed by British capital and the concession is obtained by the engineer George Stephenson near Abbas Hilmi Ier.

Births

  • May 25th: Robert Lindner is born with Chemnitz (Saxony). Engineer shining, it will make all his career with the royal railroads of Saxony and will create many series of engines.
