Events

  • April 29th: Villèle is decried by the national guard.
  • May 27th: Promulgation of the forest Code.
  • June 24th: Villèle must give up a bill worsening the censure of the press (Law Peyronnet of “Justice and love”).
    • Chateaubriant, passed in the right-wing opposition, founds a “Company of the Friends of Freedom of the press”. The opponents being given reduction to see itself évincé of the ballot boxes group in associations (“Aide you, the sky will help you”) and in committees to recover their civic rights legally: the number of the registered voters passes from 67  417 with 82  953 (more 23%).
  • June: Villèle restores the censure during the parliamentary vacancies and names 76 new pars.
  • June 30th: Startup of the railway line Saint-Etienne - Andrézieux, 23 km, conceded with perpetuity with MM Louis Antoine Beaunier Welshman and for the transport of coal; this line is the first of continental Europe; the traction of the coaches was made by horses. cf > Saint-Etienne, cradle of the European network of railroad (exposure museum of the Saint-Etienne old man)
  • August: Foundation of the company jacobine God helps those who help themselves .
  • August 24th: Funeral of Jacques-Antoine Manuel, first public demonstration against the policy of Charles X.
  • October 20th: Battle of Navarin.
  • Villèle, attacked by the liberals, makes dissolve the House of Commons.
  • Elections of the November 17th: the right-hand side and the left are linked to bar the road with the extremists: 180 ministerial deputies against 170 liberals and 75 opponents of right-hand side (the House of Commons comprises 53% more of noble). Progression of the liberals constrained Villèle to be resigned.

  • the National guard of Paris, revolted against the capacity, is dissolved.
