- Hungary: The writer Ferenc Kazinczy, to his coming out of prison to be implied in the conspiracy jacobine of 1794, devotes his life to the cause of the revival of the language and the Hungarian literature. He is the leader of the “neologists”, who enrich the language by some 8000 words, of which the half will enter the current language.
