June 11th: Miracle of the rain in Moravie: the army being encircled by the Quades whereas heat was unbearable, a violent one storm carries the enemies in a mud torrent and refreshes the assoiffés legionaries. The miracle is represented on the Colonne of Marc-Aurèle in Rome. The exact date is discussed, an erroneous reading of Latin inscriptions had placed it the June 11th 172. If year 172 is still generally appointed, the miracle can also be gone back to 174. Pertinax would have been present at the time of the miracle. The Christians, whose Tertullien sought thereafter to use this episode of the reign with an apologetic aim.
