- February 22nd: The French Henri-Louis Chavagnac devastation the English colony of Saint-Christophe-and-Niévès in the the Antilles.

- March 8th, Ethiopia:
- Beginning of the reign of Takla Haïmanot, Négus of Ethiopia (fine in 1708).

Colony of the Cape: Revolt of 63 colonists against the methods of government and the corruption of the governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel. They obtain its reference in 1707. European immigration in the colony is stopped.

- November 15th: The 6th dalaï LAMA Tsangyang Gyatso, invited in China, dies at the time of its voyage. He would have been shown of imposture and is exiled. Mongolian Qoshot, supported by the emperor Kangxi occupies the central Tibet then. A civil war develops with the Tibet to which the China will put an end (1720).

Europe

December 9th: Beginning of the reign of the king Jean V of Portugal ( Joao V ) (fine in 1750). It founds an absolutist mode, on the model of that of Louis XIV. Second War of North
- February 13rd: Swedish Victoire on the Russian and the Saxon ones of Auguste II at the time of the Battle of Fraustadt (Fraustadt-on-L' Oder).

- November: Edict which allots the nobility to the aldermen of Paris.
- December 31st: This year is remembered by an intense military activity and one notes the production in twelve months of 13 445 “minutes” (orders, reports/ratios, directives…) emanating from the secretariat of the French War. It is the record of the kind which does not prevent year 1706 from being catastrophic from a military point of view.
