- Spring frozen in England. Cold decade.
- February 13rd: Massacre of Glencoe in Scotland. Forty people of the MacDonald clan who had refused to lend Serment of allegiance to Guillaume and Marie are killed.
- March 26th: Entry in Brussels of Maximilien-Emmanuel of Bavaria, new governor of the Spanish Netherlands, son-in-law of the emperor Léopold Ier of the Holy roman Empire and victorious of the Turks to Vienna and Belgrade.
- May 24th: Head office of Namur which capitulates the June 30th.
- May 29th: Naval Victoire of Tourville to the Battle of Barfleur.
- 1er - June 3rd: Demolished French fleet of Tourville to the Battle of Hougue, close to Cherbourg, against the fleet anglo-Dutchwoman in the War Last nine Year old. - June 7th: The colony of Royal Port in Jamaica is destroyed by an earthquake. 2000 victims.
- September 14th: Return of the Spaniards to Santa Fe (New Mexico), led by Diego de Vargas Zapata. The area is reconquered as of 1696.
