January

Monday June 5th:

the pope accepts the resignation of Retz, and dispatches its bubbles with Pierre de Marca. But Pierre de Marca dies the 29, three or four days after having received them.

October

At the request of Louis XIV, Retz writes a report to the measures to be taken to make yield the pope in the conflict which opposes it to France.
