1649 in France - 1650 - 1651 in France

January

• Tuesday January 4th: Beginning of the preparations, in the greatest secrecy, in spite of some escapes, of the arrest of the princes.
• January 14th: The queen and Mazarin promise the cardinal's hat to Gondi. It is a question of neutralizing this last while the arrest of the princes is prepared.
• January 18th: Cop, his younger brother, Conti and its brother-in-law, the duke of Longueville are stopped with the Palais Royal and are taken along to Vincennes. If Gaston of Orleans is pleased some: " the beautiful haul! One has just taken a lion, a monkey and a fox. " , this takeover by force agitates the friends of the princes who raise the province (Normandy, Burgundy, Guyenne. It is the beginning of the Fronde of the princes. Rochefoucauld and Mrs. de Longueville would also have been imprisoned if they had not been informed in time. They gain both the Normandy. Rochefoucauld, for the time being still prince de Marcillac, is withdrawn then in its government of the Poitou; it prepares there with resistance. It projects to then go to raise Bordeaux, by resting on Ormée.
• January 20th: Publication of the Letter of the king on the detention of the princes of Cop, Conti and the duke of Longueville, the day when it is sent to the Parlement.
• January 22nd: The Parlement hands down a judgment of withdrawal of case in favor of Beaufort, Gondi and Broussel, in the business of the attack against fits with body Condé.
• January 23rd: Gaston of Orleans gives a ball to the Luxembourg. the River, its right-hand man which was held far away from the conspiracy against the princes leaves Gaston. February

• Tuesday: The royal family, joined soon by Mazarin, leaves Paris for Rouen, raised by the duchess of Longueville. The royal army is ordered by the count d' Harcourt which starts by besieging Chamboy with Bridge-in-the Arche. Pacification will be the three weeks business.

• February 6th: Arrival of the young person king with Rouen.
• February 8th: At the time of funerals of his/her father, Rochefoucauld calls with him, Verteuil, all the nobility of the country.
• 8 - February 9th: Escape of the duchess of duchess of Longueville. After being itself endeavoured to raise the Normandy, it embarks with Dieppe, goes to Holland then to Stenay, old place of the Maison of Cop.

March

• Wednesday March 2nd: Disgrace of the chancellor Séguier. Charles of Aubespine, marquis de Châteauneuf, adviser of State is named Minister of Justice. This last the preserve until the April 4th 1651.
• March 5th: The Court share to pacify the Burgundy (province whose Condé was the governor) where the partisans of Condé took the weapons. It is with Dijon the March 16th.
• March 21st: The duke of Vendôme, appointed governor of Burgundy in the place of Cop, puts the seat in front of Bellegarde (Seurre) where the partisans of the princes cut off themselves. Louis XIV will visit besieging it.

• Rochefoucauld will join the duke of Bubble, in revolt in the the Limousin.

April

• After having crossed Civray and Lusignan, Rochefoucauld moves towards Saumur. It passes to Montrond (April 14th), in Bourbonnais, fortress of the Condé.
• Wednesday April 20th: Rochefoucauld will raise troops in Angoumois and Poitou, and goes to the help of Saumur besieged by the royal army. Saumur is taken by the troops of the king.
• April 21st: Capitulation of Bellegarde or Seurre in Burgundy.
• April 27th: The princess dowager of Condé, request that pursuant to the declaration of the October 24th 1648 its imprisoned sons and his/her son-in-law are judged by the Parlement.
• April 30th: Treaty of Stenay concluded with the Spain, in the intention to release the princes, by the duchess of Longueville and the marshal of Turenne, taken refuge with Stenay.

May

• At the beginning of May, marriage of Bussy with Louise de Rouville, it is its second marriage.

• Tuesday May 3rd: The Cour finds the Palais Royal.
• May 9th: The dukes of Bubble and Rochefoucauld, the marshal of Turenne are " the declaration of the King against the duchess of Longueville, duke of Bubble, marshal of Turenne, prince of Marcillac, their accomplices and members, declared disturbing of the rest, criminals of lese-majesty to the first chief and confiscated " These letters are checked in Parlement the 16. That should be worth the capital punishment to them if they fall into the hands from the troops loyal supporters.
• May 14th: The princess of Cop and his son the duke of Enghien held in monitoring with Chantilly, escape, gain Montrond in Berry, join in the Limousin duke of Bubble and Rochefoucauld, which lead them to Bordeaux.
