  • Series of cold and wet summers (1646 - 1650). Late grape harvest in France.

March

  • Tuesday March 13rd: New declaration against the duels.
  • March 15th: Mazarin is named intendant of the education of the king.
  • At the end of March: Ondedei, a théatin, arrives at Paris, it will be the 3eminence grise of Mazarin and will finish bishop of Frejus.

April

  • Sunday the 1st er April: The day of Easter, Gondi disputes with Gaston of Orleans, uncle of Louis XIV, about a business of precedence in Notre-Dame.

June

  • Wednesday June 20th: Mrs. of Longueville, which had had a son on January 12th, leaves in June, called by her husband to join it with Münster, where it negotiated the Traités of Westphalia. The duke of Enghien would have delivered opinion to this last, believes one, of the inclination incipient from his wife for Rochefoucauld.
  • June 29th: Gaston of Orleans takes Courtrai at the time when it was going to cease the seat for lack of ammunition. Rochefoucauld, that of the Maxims , is with this seat of Courtrai.

July

  • “Monday July 16th 1646, was registrées with the Parlement the letters of admiralty for the queen. ” The queen refuses in fact to yield admiralty to Enghien.
  • July 18th: Gaston of Orleans leaves Courtrai to continue the army of Charles IV of Lorraine.
  • July 30th: The Parliament of the clergy having completed his work, Gondi makes the closing speech. It displeases with the court by affirming that the king must be subjected to the will of God, whose ecclesiastics are the interpreters, and while protesting against the participation of the clergy in the national expenditure.

  • the General inspector Particelli d' Émery replaces president de Bailleul with the superintendence of Finances.

August

  • Saturday: Bergues goes to Gaston of Orleans.
  • August 6th: Beginning of the Siège of Mardyck in which Rochefoucauld and Gourville take part. Rochefoucauld receives a blow of mousquet to the shoulder. It is with the seat of Mardyck that Bussy described Enghien: “ a Mars in the heat of the combat. It had the wrist of its shirt ensanglanté with the hand of which it held the sword. I asked to him whether it were not wounded. Not, he, it say me is blood of these rascals.
  • August 25th: The fort of Mardyck goes to Gaston of Orleans. Many French gentlemen are killed there.

September

  • September 7th: The duke of Enghien takes Furnes then Dunkirk (October 7th or the October 19th).

  • Tuesday September 11th: Rochefoucauld is Mestre of camp of a regiment of cavalry of its name.
  • September 22nd. The edict of the tariff revises the mode of the town dues which weigh on the products of great consumption entering to Paris. It taxes the goods without making any distinction of people among the taxable people. The Parliament asks in vain that its application be limited to the commercial rich person of the Six-Bodies and records it only on September 7th, 1647.

October

  • Tuesday October 16th: Te Deum to celebrate the catch of Dunkirk by the duke of Enghien. The Grande Miss, which will spend years to make justice with the Grand Cop, is glad to be upset not to assist and exempt themselves to with it to pay homage to its enemy thus.
  • October 29th: The Newspaper of Ormesson: " on Monday, October 29, 1646, Mr. of Guise left with Mr. the abbot Tweed to go to Rome to make break, so that one says, its marriage of with Madam de Bossu and then marry Miss de Pons. this Guise is that which will launch the forwarding of Naples. "
  • October 10th: birth of Francoise-Marguerite de Sévigné, who will become the countess of Grignan with 11 rue des lions saint-Paul (Paris IV).

November

  • Saturday November 3rd: Rochefoucauld is named governor of the Poitou, its father having obtained, in consideration its own services and those of his/her son, to buy for him this load with the count de Parabère, for 300.000 books.
  • November 21st: During the seat of Lérida by the count of Harcourt, left victorious the marquis de Leganez and who seizes the artiellery and force Harcourt with raising the seat.
