- July 27th: Foundation of Port-Royal in '' Nova Scotia '' (Acadie), French colony in North America: the French are the first Europeans to be established in what today became the Canada, thus opening the way with the creation of a colonial Empire French.
Asia & Indian world
- October 15th: Beginning of the reign of Jahangir, emperor moghol of the Indies (end in 1627).
- Salim, wire of a princess of Amber, succeeds his/her father under the name of Jahangir (“Conqueror of the World”) on the throne of Agra (September). Jahangir issues the general amnesty and takes liberal measures. King right, amateur of pretty women and opium addict, he is nevertheless the author of many assassinations and executions.
- Burma: " beginning; officiel" reign of Anaukpeitlun, Dynasty Taungû: during the following years, it drives out Portuguese and reunifies the country († in 1628).
- Japan: Tokugawa Hidetada (1579 - 1632) becomes Shogun (fine in 1622). Third wire of Tokugawa Ieyasu, it exerts its function under the control of his/her father as long as this one remains in life.
- Mongolia: Diplomatic contacts between the Mongolian khans and the Russian Tsar S, which seek to avoid the conflicts. Several treaties fix the rights of the khans Khalkha S and Oïrat on the arates which take refuge in Russian territory to escape serfdom. The Russian authorities drive back them in their former Masters.
- Tibet : The king of the Tsang near to the Karmapa drive out the Mongolian area of Lhassa. 10th Karmapa, Chöying Dorje, was born in 1604.

Europe
- {{1st}} - April 27th: Pontificate of Leon XI.
- April 20th: Etienne Bocskai, voïévode of Transylvania, is elected prince of Hungary. He conquers the Transdanubie while the Turks take again Esztergom.
- May 16th: Beginning of the Pontificate of Paul V (fine in 1621). It returns Rome all the archbishops and bishops who remain there rather than to reside in their dioceses.
- September 27th: Victoire of the hetman Polish Jan Chodkiewicz with Kircholm, close to Rīga, on the Swedes four times more.
- November 5th: Failure of a catholic conspiracy in England, “the Conspiracy of the powders”, carried out by Guy Fawkes, in which former catholic officers, in relation to the Spanish government and perhaps the Jesuits, envisagaient to make the very same day jump the Parlement of Westminster of the inaugural session, in the presence of the king and of his ministers. Its discovery makes it possible to the king to reinforce his fight against catholics and Protestants.
- has Venice, the the Holy See shows the Republic to have violated the freedom of the Church by submitting two marked ecclesiastics of crimes of common right in front of laic courts and by subjecting the real estate transactions of the clergy to the control of the Senate.
Russia
- January 16th: The army of the Faux Dimitri is beaten with Dobrynitch by Basile Chouïski.
- April 13rd: After the suicide of Boris Godounov, his son Fédor II (1589 -1605) goes up on the throne, in spite of the hostility of Boyards.
- April - May: The provinces borders of south-west are raised.
- June 10th: The partisans of the Faux Dimitri proclaim the forfeiture of Fédor II which is stopped then assassinated.
- June 20th: The treason of the Muscovite military chiefs allows the Faux Dimitri to enter Moscow, which is occupied by the Poles until in 1612.
- July 30th: Dimitri II is crowned in the cathedral of the Assumption in Moscow.
- In August, the Dimitri Forgery abolishes the restrictions brought to the “starting duty”, limit voluntary controls and prohibits the research of the fugitive serfs.
- In November, Dimitri marries by procuration Polonaise Marina Mniszek, girl of palatine of Sandomierz.
France
- : The Parliament condemns for crime of Lèse-majesté the count d' Auvergne and the Count d' Entragues, with the capital punishment, and the marchioness of Verneuil to the internment in an abbey.
