Lusaka is the Capitale of the Zambia with more than 2.000.000 inhabitants (2005). It is located at the south of the country on a plate with 1300 meters of altitude.

Lusaka was founded in 1905 by European colonists during the construction of the railway. In 1931, it replaced Livingstone as a capital of the Rhodesia of north, then British colony . In 1964, with the independence of Zambia, it became the capital about it.

March 1st 1999, four bombs exploded there, destroying the embassy of the Angola.

History

Lusaka was founded in 1905 by European colonists, with the site of an indigenous village. Because of its central site, it becomes in 1935, the capital of the Rodhésie of North in the place of Livingstone. After the federation of Scandinavian Rhodesia and Southerner in 1953, it was a center of the movement of civil disobedience which led to the creation of the state independent of Zambia. In 1964, it became the capital of lately independent Zambia. Recently, Lusaka became a popular urban center for the majority of Zambians and the tourists. Its central nature and the rapid growth of its infrastructure allowed a development in the form of job creation, of residences, etc Consequently, one it thinks that with suitable and effective economic reforms, Lusaka as well as Zambia in its ensembme will develop considerably.
