150 P

The Decapod of the type 150 P numbers 1 to 115 are locomotive with vapor built by:

They were delivered of April 16th 1940 to April 15th 1950 for the SNCF. They were the reproduction, with improvements of the 150 North 5.1201 to 5.1230 (future: 2-150 B 1 to 30 ) following a deficit out of machines for heavy trains.

Service

With the SNCF they were found committed in the areas of North and the East like on the artery connecting them by tractor drawing all the heavy trains (Coal, ore, steel and various goods trains). In the North, which was the first area to touch them they were assigned to the deposits according to:

In the East were the deposits according to which accepted the 150 P : The machines of the area Is are only defectors of the Northern area because of electrification and thus of a surplus of machines of power and this as of 1956. On the Northern area the last representing were the 2-150 P 93 and 103 which will be erased on March 17th 1967 is only 18 years after their startups. On the area Is they did not last ultimately much longer, indeed the last was the 1-150 P 86 which will be erased on February 19th 1968 with only 954.500 km with the meter!

Description

These Decapod had a motor four cylinders compound with the two HP outsides and two BP interiors and the distribution were of the type “Walschaert”. The hearth was a hearth “Belpaire” with narrow and deep grid. They had a stoker of the type “HT 1” except the machines 150 P 16 to 25 and 150 P 40 to 50 . The exhaust was variable of type “Lemaître”. The Bissel of the “Northern” type had a side displacement of approximately 65 mm and were coupled with the first driving axle which had a side displacement of approximately 15 Misters They all were provided with screens scented.

Tender

The tenders which theirs were coupled were always the same ones: it acted of the tenders unified to store and with bogies containing 34 m ³ water and 12 T of coal registered 34 P 1 to 418 or tenders with bogies containing 36 m ³ water and 9 T of coal registered 36 P 1 to 29 but much more rarely. These tenders differed between them only by the drawing from the coal bunker and resulted from the 37 m ³ of the Northern type. They were also harnessed with the 241 P and 141 P . For the machines not having to store it HT 1 the tenders were those with bogies containing 38 m ³ water and 9 T of coal registered 38 P 1 to 21 .
