Europe

  • February 4th: General rising in Prussia against the domination of the Order Teutonique. At the request of the representatives of the States, Prussia is incorporated in the Poland.

  • Jean Hunyadi takes again the hostilities to the Turks. The Hungarian Diète votes a law on the reorganization of the military system. Hunyadi creates a plain and effective military structure with various “banderies” of the barons, the bishops, the comitats and the ethnos groups like the Sicules and the Coumans. He enlists many mercenaries recruited especially among old the taborites from which he borrows their mobile tactic and their tanks. To finance the lifting of 100  000 men, the Diet votes extremely heavy taxes of war. The king Ladislas V, resident with Prague, takes shade of it and requires to recover his kingly incomes managed by Hunyadi. He restricts his political powers while placing it under the authority of the Council of the kingdom of 18 members, then to finally restores its attributions him.

France
