- the sovereign Aztèque Montézuma Ier joins together under its control of vast territories in Central America.
- Maya Revolt against the capacity of Cocom with Mayapan, capital of the Yucatán. The city is abandoned in 1461.

- the king of Ethiopia Zara Yacoub founds the monastery of Métaq in its residence of Tégoulet (Choa), by giving him the name of the convent of Egypt from which it comes to learn the destruction. It establishes shortly after its capital and its palate more in the south, in the country of Debra-Berham (Abbey of MargueritLumière).

Début of the treats Atlantic: Portuguese Nuno Tristão and Antão Gonzalves captures ten natives of the Rio de Oro to put them in Esclavage. Nuno Tristão transports them towards the sugar plantations of the the Azores and Madeira, while Antão Gonzalves reaches the Cape Blanc.
- Kombemtinga (Ouagadougou) becomes the capital of the Royaume Mossi.
Asia
- July 12th, Japan: Assassination of the Shogun Yoshinori Ashikaga, hated for its despotism, by the general Mitsusuke Akamatsu who wanted to avenge his Master that the shogun had constrained with the suicide to punish it its inclinations of independence (Guerre of Kakitsu). Yoshikatsu Ashikaga succeeds to him at the eight years age (end in 1449).
The Middle East
- Concile of the Armenian Église joins together with Vagharshapat. It decides the re-establishment of the catholicos with Etchmiadzine; the catholicos of Located, in Cilicie, which does not take part in the council, refuses this decision, so that from this date there will be two catholicosats.

- January 22nd: Charles VII stigmatizes the misdeeds with the gentlemen flayers by a royal act.
- July 9th: In recognition of its services, Charles VII, by letters patent, anoblit, like all its family, Huet Léguisé - brother of Jean Léguisé, bishop of Troyes between 1426 and 1450 - which, during the War One hundred Year old, had been opposed to the Bourguignons and had managed to make open, the doors of Troyes to Jeanne d' Arc, which led it to Rheims to make it crown, in July 1429.
- August 14th: Legal settlement of Redon between the duke Jean V of Brittany and the pope. Breton autonomy with respect to the Church gallicane.
- September 19th: The troops of Charles VII take Pontoise after Creil (May): the king is the Master of the Île-de-France.

- Jean Hunyadi becomes voïévode of Transylvania and ispan of the comitat of Tempes, between the the Danube and the Maros.
- Jean Hunyadi, wire of the cneaz Voïcu, reorganizes the army of the border with the Othoman with Czech mercenaries Hussite S. It overcomes the Turks with Maros Svent Imre. It shares its capacity with its ally Miklós Ujlaki, but this one generally resides at the court and lets it act with its own way on the ground.
- Jean Hunyadi became the richest owner of Hungary. He would have 2 300 000 ha of grounds, 28 fortresses, 57 cities and nearly 1000 villages. Its grounds and those of its allies would have represented half of the national territory and much more than the royal properties.

- June 7th: Bubble of the pope Eugene IV creating the University of Bordeaux.
- June 24th: The Collège of Eton is founded in England by the king Henri VI.
- a public library is opened with Florence.
- the Venetian painter Jacopo Bellini is allowed at the court of Ferrare where it gains a contest the opponent with Pisanello, for the execution of the portrait of the duke.
- the Couronnement of the Virgin is painted by Filippo Lippi (fine in 1447).
Science & technology
- First caravel, allowing to continue the exploration of the African coast by Portuguese. They are an entirely new boat, approximately 50 barrels, with only one floor, a bridge raised with the back and two chechmates carrying of the triangular veils. It owes its handiness with the surface of its aerofoil, the double of that of of the same boats tonnage. It allows in particular the Navigation the bouline, or progression in zigzag against the wind. About fifteen sailors are enough to operate it. It is conceived to counter the difficulties of the return of Guinea (wind upright and running opposite) while making it possible to gain the broad one and the the Azores to find Lisbon. The Portuguese initiate themselves with it with the navigation of open sea.
