- June 30th: Beginning of the reign of Kung Min Today-Ti, emperor ming of China (fine in 1403).
- September 17th: Tamerlan ( Timour Lenk ) destroyed Delhi and appendix the Panjâb with its empire.
- Preceded by its grandson Pir Muhammad who takes Multân in May, Tamerlan invades Panjab (September), carries out 100 000 prisoners Hindu, beats the vizier Mallu Ikbal in front of Delhi (September 17th) and plunders the basic city in roof during three days.
- Bukka II, wire of the king of Vijayanagar attacks Firuz Shah Bahmanî but is overcome in 1399 and must pay a considerable tribute.
The Middle East
- September 9th: Beginning of the reign of Janus of Cyprus
- Bayazid Ier conquered since 1389 most of the Asia Mineure: maritime emirates of Aïdin, Menteshe, Saruhan, the northern coast by the dispossession of the emirs of Kastamonu, and the Karamanie. Master of the coasts, it builds a fleet and attacks with hospital Smyrna, Chios, Négrepont, the Attique, and made Antalya the first Othoman port of the Mediterranean.
Europe
- the Bastille becomes prison of State in France.
- Vitold of Lithuania, eager to annex the duchy of Moscow depend on the Horde of Gold, seeks peace in the west and returns the Samogitie to the Teutoniques.
- Beginning of the reign of Timur Kutlug, khan of the Horde of Gold (fine in 1400). It overcomes the Lithuanians close to the Vorska.
Religion
- Subtraction of obedience: to solve the Great Schism of Occident, the Université of Paris is posed as a mediator and proposes a double abdication and, like means of pressure, a refusal to obey. It passes to the act in front of the resistance of Avignon. But the opposing party not having followed, its gesture remains without effects.
