Asia
- With the Japan, the Shogun Yoshimitsu Ashikaga, which abdicated in 1394, is withdrawn in the monastery of the gold House (Kinkaku-ji) in the north of Kyôto.
- After the court reigns of Shams-ud-DIN Daud Shah II, beginning of the reign in India of Aldine Tâj Fîrûz, sultan of the Bahmani (fine in 1422). Under its reign, Hindou S are promoted at very important stations with an aim of defusing the tensions.
Europe
- February 27th, Hungary: Conspiracy of Lackfi against the king Sigismond of Hungary and the clan of Miklós Parked, wire of the palatine one. Being pressed on the rebels of Slavonia, the party of Ladislas Ier of Naples, wire of Charles of Lasted, undertakes to relieve Sigismond. Lackfi takes the head of the plot, but the conspiracy is thwarted by the league Garai - Kanizsai. Lackfi, its nephew and his partisans perish, but the winners, Kanizsai and new palatine Detre Bebek, have other goals only to subject the king to their party. They require the dismissal of the foreign advisers amongst other things, and in front of the refusal of Sigismond, throw it in prison in 1401.
- April 1st: Beginning of an epidemic of plague with Arles in Provence; it lasts until January 1399.

- July 8th: Shown treason, Thomas de Woodstock, uncle of Richard II of England, are stopped and carried out without lawsuit the September 8th. He had criticized the new Franco-English truce and the marriage of the king with Isabelle de Valois, girl of Charles VI.

July 20th: With the diet of Kalmar, 133 notable finds a base legal and lawful for the Union between the Denmark, the Sweden and the Norway (fine in 1523), under the authority of Eric de Poméranie. The Union of Kalmar gathers the Scandinavia under the authority of the regent Marguerite ( Valdemarsdotter ).
- Denmark, center of gravity of Scandinavia, will dominate the Union of Kalmar, as well by its demography as by the economy.
