September 25th: Battle of Nicopolis. The Christian army of Sigismond of Hungary and the united Westerners is demolished by the Othoman Turks of Bayazid Ier and the Serb ones of Stefan Lazarević with Nicopolis in Bulgaria, which puts an end to the crusade. Beginning of the Othoman occupation of the territory of the Bulgaria (fine in 1878).

System of the Timar S in the Ottoman Empire: the grounds of the conquest, which are in their state-owned property majority ( erz-i-mirie ), are redistributed in the form of concession, the timars: 90% of them are timars of sword allotted to riders ( sipahis ), the remainder of the timars of office which maintain the civil or religious civils servant (kadis, bishops, etc). The grounds therefore are not confiscated with their former owners: if they are faithful, the former holders of bashtina or pronoia can become timariotes without same converting with the Islam.
