Western Europe

  • May 11th: The emperor Wenceslas sets up in duchy the territory of Milan. The first duke of Milan Gian Galeazzo Visconti then tries to extend its influence on most of the peninsula.
  • August 29th: Albert IV of Habsbourg becomes duke of Austria (fine in 1404).

Eastern Europe

  • April 15th: Battle of the Terek. Forwarding of Tamerlan against the Horde of Gold. Saray and Astrakan is destroyed.

  • May 17th:
    • Victoire of the prince de Valachie Mircea Old the on the Turks with Rovine. Mircea, with the catches with a revolt of the boyards flees in Transylvania to put itself under the protection of the king of Hungary. Its adversary becomes voïévode of Valachie under the name of daN Ier and agrees to pay the tribute ( haraci ) with the Othoman Sultan (fine in 1397).
    • With died of Marie of Hungary, her husband Sigismond of Bohemia-Luxembourg becomes king of Hungary. He is requested by the pope and the Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologist to organize a crusade against the Othomans.
  • Tamerlan, after having overcome the Mongol Togtamich, threat Moscow and devastates Riazan. Vassili Ier, prince de Moscou, pushes back it the August 26th.

  • Tamerlan plunders the the Crimea. The rich person counter génois of Caffa is disorganized.

  • the Saxons of Transylvania obtain the right to strengthen their cities and the churches of village ( Kirchenburgen ).

Religion

  • Jean de Gerson becomes chancellor of the Université of Paris. It tries to put a term at the Great Schism of Occident by convening a council which would make it possible to work with a complete reform of the Church.
  • Transfer to Moscow of the icon of the Virgin known as “of Vladimir”, at the moment when Tamerlan, which was advanced towards Moscow, makes an abrupt half-turn and saving the city. The icon is regarded as protective city.

  • Frescos of Théophane the Greek with the Church of the Archangel, Moscow.

Economy & company

  • monetary Crisis in Occident (fine in 1415) due to the overdrawn commercial assessment with the East since the year millet (purchase of spice, Silk, Pearl, Pilgrimage S, Crusades, ransoms) worsened by the internal disasters of the Occident and the draining of Sudanese gold.
