- April 14th - September 17th: Reign of Jean VII Paleologist, emperor of the East. Revolted against his grandfather Jean V Paleologist, it seizes Constantinople with the assistance of the Sultan Bayazid Ier. It is driven out by his uncle Manuel II Paleologist helped by Venice.

- Construction of the tomb of Tan Zhu (1370-1390) with Zouxian (China), tenth wire of the emperor ming Hongwu. It contains clothing, objects of lacquer, many painted silk rollers, a zither gone back to 1164, many incunables of XIIIe and 14th centuries and a succession of 400 delicately engraved wood figurines.
