Events

The Middle East

  • Bayazid, wire of Murat Ier wife the girl of the bey of Germiyan.
  • Tamerlan takes Harat. It launches out to the conquest of the Perse (fine in 1393).

Europe

  • May 19th: Alliance of the Castille with the pope of Avignon.
  • July 16th: Charles of Lasted conquers the Royaume of Naples and makes lock up Jeanne Ire of Naples to the castle of Egg, then in the fortress of Muro, in the middle of the mountains. It holds the capacity until in 1382.
  • July 17th: The Portuguese fleet is destroyed by the Castilians with the Bataille of Saltes.
  • August 8th: Treaty of Turin. Victoire of Venice on Genoa at the conclusion of the War of Chioggia. It must however give up the Dalmatie with the Hungarians and Trévise with the Habsbourg of Austria. N the other hand of salt delivery by the Dalmatian ports, Venice is committed annually pouring 7000 gold coins to king de Hongrie.

  • the cities of the the Rhine are combined with the Ligue of Souabe against the companies of knights who had, in 1380, put the seat in front of Frankfurt.
  • Plague with Vienna.
  • the king of Hungary allots an equal representation to the Germans and to Slovak to the échevinat of Žilina.

France

  • January 15th: Signature of the second treated of Guérande (ratified the April 4th). Neutrality of the Brittany.

  • May 27th: Guy III of Roye, until there bishop of Verdun, becomes bishop of Fraud.
  • September: Beginning of the Revolt of Tuchins in Languedoc (fine in 1384). Urban and rural movement, it is with the escape in front of the tax of poor wretches who have other recourse only to take the maquis. Even if one finds among them or among their advisers Robin carcassonnais or a rider nîmois, it acts above all of a reaction against poverty and misery.
  • November: Meeting of the states of the Languedoc.
  • December: Peace treaty signed between Jean Ier de Berry and Gaston III of Foix-Béarn.

  • the Duc of Brittany Jean IV the Conqueror creates the Ordre of Hermine.

British Isles

  • Agitation of the Lollards in England, disciples of John Wyclif, who returning to the Writing like single source of the religious life, reject the pontifical institution, the sacraments and the tradition.

  • the Revolt of the peasants or Revolts “Workers”, led by Wat Tyler and John Ball, starts in England. It is caused by the multiplication of the taxes ( Peasants' Revolt ). The revolt bursts simultaneously in the Kent, where the peasants refuse to pay the third poll-tax and in the Essex, where the peasants express against a lord who imposes a price of repurchase exorbitant on the one of his serfs. Part of the urban population (Rochester, Maidstone, Canterbury, London) supports revolted. Priests unite with them, such John Ball who preaches in London against the aristocracy.
    • June 11th: Wat Tyler goes on London to the head of 60  000 person. The palate of the duke of Lancaster is set fire to, the chancellor and the treasurer of the kingdom is massacred.
    • June 14th: Wat Tyler obtains concessions of the king in Mile End (abolition of serfdom, blocking of the taxable quotas, freedom of the market of the grounds, perhaps freedom to the work).
    • But the June 15th, Wat Tyler is killed by the mayor of the city, William Walworth, in the presence of the king. Rising is violently repressed by the army gathered by the captain Robert Knolles. The charters of End Mile are repealed and the movement remains without continuations, but the leading classes are impressed.
