Europe
- May 3rd: Beginning of the reign of Oluf II Haakonson (1370 - 1387), king of Denmark under the regency of Margrethe.
- June 27th: Truce of Bruges.
- August 12th: Beginning of the reign of Andronic IV Paleologist, Byzantine Emperor (until in 1379). It reverses his father Jean V Paleologist with the assistance of the Turks and Génois.
- September 3rd: A royal decree of Charles V puts the forests of naval Normandy at the service of the building sites.
- September 13rd: Gregoire XI decides departure of the popes of Avignon towards Rome (it will arrive there only the January 17th 1377).
- War of Chioggia between Genoa and Venice (fine in 1381).
- War of Florence against the pope (fine in 1378).
- Stephen Tvrtko, nephew and successor of the round of applause of Bosnia Stephen Krotomanic, proclaims king of Serbia and Bosnia (fine in 1391). Its kingdom does not survive to him.
British Isles
- April 28th - July 10th: Good Parliament . The Parliament proclamation its power by relieving several royal advisers for corruption. It is the first use of the procedure of impeachment .
- the House of Commons, distinct from the House of Lords, is chaired by a Speaker , then Sir Peter of the Pond.

the England saw one difficult period. To finance the war, the king Edouard III of England must undergo the Draconian conditions of the Italian bankers and multiply the tax expédients. The Black Death makes terrible devastations. A severe legislation is impotent to suppress the social disturbances which result from it. When the military setbacks come, the weakened king lets control his son Jean of Ghent, duke of Lancaster, which, to triumph over its adversaries, is pressed on the reformer John Wyclif whose preaching raises the latent anticlericalism of the masses (1378).
- Concordat of Bruges enters the England and the the Holy See (or 1375).
Saint Worsens
- July 4th: League of Souabe, confederation of fourteen cities, whose Ulm was the most important member, which fights for the recognition of their rights vis-a-vis the lords, is opposed to tax greed Charles IV and to the count of Wurtemberg. The cities accept the maintenance of the subjection of the cities to the imperial authority in exchange of the promise of the emperor not to mortgage or sell the cities members of the league, not to raise heavy taxes, and to establish the safety of the private property and trade within the league.
Religion
- the preacher Geert Groote (1340 - 1384), laic of Deventer (Netherlands) founds the “ modern devotion ”. He pleads for translations of the Writings in vernacular language, and after having translated the Psaumes into Dutch, a group of men gathers to carry out other translations. It founds the group of the Frères of the common life, where it exalte the virtues of poverty and simplicity, the division of the richnesses and preaching in vulgar language.
