Africa

  • the Christian kingdom of Dongola (Nubie) succumbs to the Arab invasions:
    • the sultan of the Cairo Al-Nâsir deposits Kérenbés, last Christian king of Dongola, which refused to pay the tribute. It installs on the throne a king Nubie N Moslem named Abdallah ibn-Sanbou. This last is in its turn reversed by another Moslem, Kanz ED-Daoula, which occupies the area until in 1382. It is in continual fight against the Egyptians and manages to occupy temporarily the area of Assouan, but it will be definitively driven out by it at the end of the century by the Egyptian troops.
  • the kingdom of Aloa, more in the south, remains well off these engagements, but when Dongola falls, it is cut Christendom, because the kingdom of Aksoum is hostile for him.

  • In Burma, the Shan found the Royaume of Sagaing.

The Middle East

  • Reign of Al-nâsir Muhammad ibn Qalâ' a, sultan Mameluke of Egypt. He persecutes the Coptes.

  • wet Climate. Catastrophic floods which compromise harvests in France in 1315 - 1316. Famine in England (1315-1316).

  • Creation of a tax on the salt: the Gabelle.
  • to reduce the fate of the peasants and to reduce the power of the emirs, the sultan Al-nâsir Muhammad ibn Qalâ' a orders a general redistribution of the Iqtâ of Egypt. Capitation ( Jawâlî ) and certain “gifts” ( diâfa ) versed with the muqtâ' are integrated into the lump sum reported by the iqtâ . This measurement, favorable to the peasants, worsens the rural migration, because the Fellah S flee to escape the payment from the capitation, from now on attached to the field and either to their person.
