- Empire of Mali:
- Aboubakri II (Abubakar II) dies, according to the legend, with the head of a forwarding of 2000 dugouts launched with an aim “of reaching the other end of the ocean”. Certain authors supposed that it could reach the America, but nothing makes it possible to support this assumption.
- His/her son Mansa Moussa succeeds to him until in 1337. It will carry the Empire to its apogee, of the Fouta-Djalon to Agadez and on the old empires of the Ghana and the Songhaï. It establishes diplomatic relations followed with the Portugal, the Morocco, the Tunisia and the Egypt.
